Following the release of another video that seems to corroborate the fact that Goddy-Mbakwe Chiamaka Precious might not be entirely guilty of the assault case, a Nigerian lawyer, Barrister Eyinnaya Nwosu, has demanded that the management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University sanction the lecturer involved in the assault case.
In a Facebook post, he provided his reasons for why a public sanction by the institution on the lecturer would be a fair judgment for the two parties involved in the saga.
According to him, the lecturer did not exhibit civil behavior and should be sanctioned alongside the student.
“The lecturer should receive some public condemnation from the university authority. He didn’t do well either. Maybe not sacking, but some form of reprimand.”
While social media is abuzz with people giving their different takes on what is perceived as a biased judgment from the school authority, our concern remains whether the video circulating yesterday was played for the authorities and members of the Senate and Disciplinary Committee that issued the judgment of expulsion for Goddy-Mbakwe Chiamaka Precious.
If it was, then the authority needs to revisit their judgement and do the needful.
