The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has sent words enclosed in a legal letter to the wife of the Senate President, Mrs. Unoma Ekaette Akpabio, warding her off from the allegations against her husband.
Yesterday, the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio, was embroiled in a sexual allegation case following Natasha’s brazen statement on Arise Television. Natasha alleged that the Senate President opted to frustrate her among her Senate colleagues, obstructing her motions, tarnishing her reputation, and harassing her after she allegedly rejected his advances.
Shielding her husband from the slander and in a bid to vouch for his credibility, the former First Lady of Akwa-Ibom State held a press briefing in Abuja to debunk the allegations, citing that her husband is a jovial fellow whose kind gestures are often misunderstood irrationally by members of the public as amorous advances. She further explicated that they, the Akpabios, have enjoyed a cordial relationship with Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan even before his union with the Senator.
In line with the debunking, Mrs. Akpabio has instituted multiple lawsuits against the Senator to the tune of 250 billion naira as damages. She also pleaded with the court to order a retraction of the allegations leveled against her husband by Senator Natasha, alongside a written apology that will be published in ThisDay and The Guardian Newspapers.
In response to the press briefing and multiple lawsuits, Senator Natasha, in a letter dated March 1, 2025, has sent cautionary words to Mrs. Akpabio through Barr. Victor Giwa, her lawyer. Mrs. Akpabio was advised subtly to butt out of the case she has against her husband, the Senate President.
โStay away from Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghanโs Sexual Harassment and Intimidation Allegation Against Sen. President Godswill Akpabio; To Safeguard Your Sanity and That of Your Family,โ the letter emphasized that the allegations were personal to the Senate President and that he should be allowed to defend himself.
โOur client is not desirous of calling you out into the unfortunate saga concerning her allegations against the Senate President and wishes that you restrain yourself from delving into the obscene circumstances. While she has tolerated all the harassment from the Senate President, she was constrained to reveal the unfortunate torture and victimization that she has been going through in the red chambers under the hand of the Senate President.โ
