Police Arrest 144 Suspected Bandits Criminals, Kill 4 Recover Guns, Cartridges, Others In Katsina
The Police in Katsina have arrested a total of one hundred and forty-four suspected criminals in connection with one hundred and twenty-eight reported major crimes in the state.
DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the crime-fighting achievements recorded last month in Katsina on Friday.
Aliyu, who noted that the Command’s efforts are yielding significant results, said this includes armed robbery, culpable homicide, kidnapping, and rape, amongst others.
According to him, sixteen culpable homicide suspects, seven armed robbery suspects, one suspected informant to bandits, forty-nine suspected rapists, and Forty-seven suspects in connection with offenses not mentioned above were arrested.
Additionally, he added that the command has succeeded in neutralizing four suspected armed bandits, rescuing one hundred and five kidnapped victims, and recovered thirteen suspected rustled animals.
Other items recovered, he mentioned also include, Four locally made Guns,
Thirteen pump-action Cartridges and Five motorcycles were recovered within the period under review as exhibits.
He commended the officers and men for their hard work and dedication to duty, adding that, the achievements this month are a testament to their tireless efforts in ensuring a safer Katsina state.
Sadiq further expressed sincere appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,
the Katsina State Government, under the able leadership of Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, members of the press for their objective reporting and fruitful partnership.
“We will continue to work closely with the community and all relevant stakeholders to ensure that our crime-fighting efforts are effective and sustainable”, he concluded.
