A shocking incident has rocked the Jeddo Community of Okpe Local Government, Delta State, where a murder investigation has led the police to a convicted inmate in prison.
The shocking discovery began when the Jeddo Police started an investigation into the murder of one Wisdom Odey, a 29-year-okd, who was killed by a burglar who broke into his residence on the night of February 24, 2025.
Reporters disclosed that Wisdom, who heard the sound of the burglar’s operation from outside, had woken up his brother, and both had gone to hold the door to fend off the thief.
As the duo wrestled with the door in an attempt to deter the burglar, the thief on the other end pressed the muzzle of the gun through the tiny hole in the door, releasing bullets that rendered Wisdom lifeless. Upon seeing this, Wisdom’s brother fled for his life.
The burglar, after accessing the territory, made a transfer of #250,000 from Wisdom’s account to a Palmpay account and carted away eleven smartphones that were on charge and belonging to Wisdom’s neighbours.
A source who preferred to remain anonymous asserted that the police dug into the account history and bank statements of the account to which the money was transferred, discovering that the account was registered in the name of an inmate currently serving a jail term in a prison facility located in Warri.
After connecting the dots, it became apparent that despite being behind bars, the account owner is still operating, using his gang of hoodlums outside to carry out further crimes similar to the one for which he was convicted.
May the soul of Wisdom rest in peace.
