Trouble looms for Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, as the Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 6, has summoned him to answer to the case of criminal defamation of the persona of Mercy Chinwo, a Nigerian gospel artiste.
VeryDarkMan has been ordered by Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna, as stated in the summons dated 5th of March, to appear in person before the court on the 13th of March, 2025, to answer the charges that the popular gospel artiste and complainant has leveled against him.
VeryDarkMan has jumped on the bandwagon criticizing Mercy Chinwo for a contract breach. Apparently, Mercy Chinwo had, prior to her fame, been signed to the Eazy Concept Record Label. However, there was said to be some sort of contractual misunderstanding, misappropriation, and diversion of $345,000 linked to the CEO of Eazy Concept, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu.
Mercy Chinwo, to this effect, had gone live weeks ago, clearing the air and informing all and sundry that there was nothing of the sort. The “Excess Love” crooner also presented documentary evidence before the court of law, including emails and payment receipts, to substantiate that VDMโs allegations are fallacies and malicious acts intended to tarnish her reputation.
With a lawsuit of 1.1 billion naira for damages against VDM, netizens have sent cryptic messages to Martins Vincent Otse, suggesting that a wise dog knows when to bark and growl. While some are of the opinion that this might be the beginning of his end, others have firmly resolved that Vincent Otse cannot be pulled down.
