Assassins didn’t relent, as four years after a failed assassination attempt, they relaunched an attack and finally took down Oluwatosin Onamade, the APC Chairmanship aspirant of Ijede Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Onamade’s murder took place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, after he was shot at sporadically and thereafter macheted.
The deceased brother disclosed in an interview with Punch that the unknown gunmen donned black-coloured outfits, and had trailed the activities of the deceased for a while to decipher the perfect time to take him out after several fails.
Femi, late Onamade’s brother, asserted that the assassins’ first attempt had him and his brother narrowly escaping death as the hoodlums shot at Onamade, who seemed to be immune to their bullets. Femi recalled that they later used a machete on his brother since the bullets fired from their guns did not penetrate his body.
Femi furthered his speech by stating unequivocally that his brother’s death is affiliated with his political ambition, claiming that his haters and opponents knew he had an upper hand and many followers.
โIt happened around 9 PM on Saturday. There were two gunmen. They were wearing black outfits, and no one could recognize them. His aide said he could not wait when he heard gunshots.
