Woman Charged to Court for Giving Fake Testimony
A 32-year-old girl identified as Loveth Helen Alo,, who made a fake testimony at Zion Prayer Movement , Lago,s, has been arraigned in Magistrate Court Enugu.
It was reported that Alo was arrested following a petition alleging that she falsely claimed ownership of a five-bedroom duplex located at WTC Estate, Enugu which she allegedly presented during a testimony at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, Nigeria.
The suspect was seen in a viral video testifying with the Footage of the building displayed at a Zion Ministry program, claiming that God had blessed her with the acquisition of the building.
Helen was arraigned on Tuesday at a Magistrate Court sitting in Enugu North Magistrate District presided over by S.O. Chukwuani on four count charges of defamation, conspiracy, felony, and false pretense.
She was accused of false pretense with intent to defraud and present herself as the owner of a Five Bedroom Duplex situated at Plot 16 WTC Estate, Enug,u, belonging to one Arch. Emmanuel Asogwa.
After the four count charges were read to Helen, she pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and the Magistrate, S.O Chukwuani, admitted her to one million naira bail and a person with three years of tax clearance.
The case, which was between the commissioner of Police and Loveth Alo Helen, was adjourned till April 9th, 2025, for a proper hearing.
” That you Loveth Alo Helen ‘f’ on the 26th day of February 2025 at Plot 16 WTC Estate, Enugu in Enugu North Magisterial District did by false pretense and with intent to defraud, present yourself as the owner of a Five (5) Bedroom Duplex situate at Plot 16 WTC Estate, Enugu belonging to one Arch. Emmanuel Asogwa ‘m’ and thereby committed an offense punishable under Section 460 of the Criminal Code, Cap 30, Vol. II, Revised Laws of Enugu State of Nigeria 2004.” The charge sheet is read in parts.
Speaking to journalists after her arraignment, the suspect restated that he did not arrange or discuss the testimony with anybody, stressing that she did not collect anything from anybody.
She said “ I did not discuss it with anybody, I only did it as an act of faith with the hope to get my own house so nobody arranged anything with me, I did not collect anything from anybody”
