The senior pastor of Light Nation Church, Apostle Femi Lazarus, has become a hot topic for debate on the internet over the manner in which he lashed out at a drummer who interrupted him during his ministration.
Every ardent churchgoer can attest to the truism that drummers often constitute a nuisance during sermons with their obtrusiveness, an act that is interpreted as soul-stirring by such instrumentalists.
While delivering his sermon, the drummer, in a bid to invigorate the message, inadvertently interrupted the Apostle, leading to a response from him that has sparked mixed feelings within the cyber community.
Apostle Femi said, “Stop that. Get off from here. Leave that place.”
The drummer, who did not heed the words of the Apostle, sat still until he was told a second time to leave when the Apostle turned and saw him still seated.
While some factions of the cyber community have faulted the Apostle for his outrage, citing that his actions and choice of words were derogatory, others have commended his Spartan disciplinary act on the grounds that most instrumentalists lack decorum and ministerial ethics.
One user, tumainiprint0, said: “One of the problems with our generation is that we hate rebuke. If your boss talks to you like this, will you quit your job? You wonโt even say a word, but if itโs church, we will walk out.”
