The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four individuals in connection with the kidnapping and brutal murder of six-year-old Shuaibu Safiyanu in Darazo Local Government Area.
According to police reports, the suspects abducted the child and contacted his father, demanding a ransom of 3 million for his release. After negotiations, the criminals reduced their demand to ₦200,000.
The distressed father had initially reported his son’s disappearance to the village head, Musa Isah, before receiving the kidnappers’ call. Acting swiftly, the police launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of Rabi’u Muhammadu, who was identified as the person making the ransom calls and the owner of the bank account provided for the transaction.
Under interrogation, Rabi’u Muhammadu revealed the mastermind behind the crime—35-year-old Samson Ozoichikel. He also named two other accomplices, Muhammad Sani and Musa Usman.
As investigations progressed, authorities discovered the lifeless body of young Shuaibu in a nearby bush on March 21, with a rope around his neck—a chilling indication that he had been strangled. His remains were transported to a hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.
The Bauchi State Police Command continues its investigation to ensure justice is served for the innocent child whose life was tragically cut short.
