Nigerians might wake up to news of a lawsuit filed against former Vice President Atiiku Abubakar by Unoma Akpabio, wife of Godswill Akpabio, following a statement made on Arise Television.
The 2024 PDP’s presidential candidate has hinted at information corroborating allegations by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against the president of the 10th Senate Godswill Obot Akpabio.
The former vice president, in a video by Arise TV shared hot takes on the PDP, describing the party as one that entertains grounds for the compromise of leadership. He also mentioned that the emergency rule declared by the presidency in Rivers State didn’t come as a shock to him.
Delving into the Akpabio-Natasha sexual allegation kerfuffle, the presidential hopeful branded the 10th Senate as corrupt, stating that Godswill Obot Akpabio is a known corrupt individual.
“I am not surprised because the leadership of the National Assembly is corrupt, and I have no apology about that,” he said.
“The Senate President (Godswill Akpabio) is known to be involved in corruption, even when he was a governor. I received reports of this frequently.”
“Not only was he corrupt, but he was also in the habit of abusing women. I got that report.โ
Recall that the suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan petitioned a sexual harassment allegation case against the Senate President wherein she detailed that the Senate President had wanted her to bed him. She captioned this in the petition
“Natasha, I am the Chief Presiding Officer of the Senate and you can enjoy a whole lot from me if you take care of me and make me happy.”
The Senate had earlier dismissed the petition on procedural and self-endorsement grounds citing that the legality of such petition warrants the endorsement of a third and neutral party.
