Sensational gospel artiste Dr. Panam Parcy Paul has revealed how industry executives approached him with an offer to remove the name of Jesus from his albums for ยฃ24.
He mentioned that the industry heavyweights met with him in 1995 to initiate a deal. Their offer was a whopping ยฃ7 billion for him to either reduce his mentions of Jesus or replace it with more relatable euphemisms like “The Greatest Lover” or “The Righteous One.”
Dr. Panam, perceiving the offer as an insult to his faith, brazenly said:
โYou can keep your money; Iโll keep the name.โ
According to him, he has since maintained his faith, doing the work of the Lord as diligently as he could. He expressed concerns over how modern artistes have commercialized gospel music. He noted that the industry is now being governed by monetary values. He also pointed out how artists chant and speak in tongues in music not for the purpose of spiritual edification but for sales scalability.
He lastly admonished gospel artistes and ministers to bring the authentic gospel that prioritizes faith and spiritual growth other than self aggrandisement and classism.
