Chijioke Edeoga, former Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, has retraced his steps and gone back to the People’s Democratic Party.
Chijioke Edeoga, who was formerly a PDP member, was said to have defected to the Labour Party after an insufferable loss at the primaries to Peter Mbah, who later won the election.
It was reported that Edeoga made his return move after several rendezvous with the party’s political heads.
Hon. Martins Chukwunweike, the state chairman of the party, was said to have paid a visit to Edeoga at his residence in Enugu State, where he urged Edeoga to retrace his steps and return to the PDP.
Hon. Martins Chukwunweike labeled the PDP as Edeoga’s political family and stated that he should not be away from it.
On his part, Edeoga consulted the stakeholders in the LP in his Isi-Uzo Local Government Area last week, where he presented the two political options before them.
Endorsing his return, Edeoga arrived at the PDP secretariat in Enugu On Monday, March 31, 2025, noting that his return is a โhomecoming.โ
Further reports gathered that the leading opposition party APC has also tried its luck with Edeoga hoping for a gallant defection.
Reports alleged that the All Progressive Congress has wanted to cajole him to the party where he can take it out against PDP’s Peter Mbah in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
