In the heat of the Edo State extrajudicial killings, a Kaduna police officer, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, has vowed to launch retaliatory killings against the southern residents in the north.
In a Facebook post, Dan-Taki declared a sequel to the extrajudicial killings in Uromi, Edo State, targeting the southerners living in the north. According to him, this will be a mission of vendetta aimed at redeeming the 16 northerners who were lynched.
“I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys. Have you forgotten all your brothers that are living here in the North? Mark my words, after one week you shall see the result.โ โ Dan-Taki.
In a swift response aimed at promoting peace, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has pledged his commitment to ensuring peace, tranquility, and the safety of the southerners in the north.
Dan-Taki’s insensitive post sparked widespread outrage, with many people flocking to his timeline to express their displeasure.
In response, Dan-Taki has restricted access to his Facebook account and stopped using his original name.
Meanwhile, Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin has assured northerners that justice will be served after due deliberation.
