The tribunal finally ruled in favor of Okpebholo, upholding him as the democratically elected governor in the 2024 Edo State gubernatorial polls.
In the wake of this development, the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, sent congratulatory messages to Governor Okpebholo.
Wike, in the statement, described the tribunal’s verdict as a reaffirmation of the peopleโs mandate.
Nyesom Wike has, however, urged Governor Okpebholo to remain steadfast and dedicated to the good work he is doing in Edo State.
Throwing shade at the People’s Democratic Party, Wike cryptically mentioned that Okpebholo should not entertain any focus from folks seeking power through “the back door.”
His words:
“This victory belongs to the people of Edo State who freely elected Governor Okpebholo. I am confident in his ability to bring much-needed progress to the state.”
