The Uromi extrajudicial killings is taking another turn as the Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, has been sacked and replaced by Mr. Monday Agbonika.
Mrs. Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin came on board as the Commissioner of Police shortly after her appointment as the 49th CP of the State on January 16, 2025.
Otimenyin was said to have taken over from CP Peter Umoru Ozigi upon his retirement on the 5th of January 2025.
Saddled with huge responsibilities, Agbonika, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, has opened up on plans to halt criminal activities such as kidnapping, extrajudicial killings, and communal clashes in the State.
Agbonika has also been admonished to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the recent extrajudicial killings in Uromi, where sixteen northern travelers were brutally lynched.
