In a heart-wrenching tragedy, four gospel ministers lost their lives in a fatal motor accident that occurred on Saturday, April 5, 2025, along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State.
The People’s Insight gathers that the ministers were en route to a ministration when the crash happened. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in a statement released by Sector Commander Florence Okupe on Monday, April 7, confirmed the identities of the deceased as:
– Evangelist Ayodeji David, popularly known as Kekere Jesu
– Evangelist Iyanu Joseph
– Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin
– Opeyemi Adesina
The devastating news has sparked an outpouring of grief across social media, with church members, fans, and fellow ministers mourning the loss.
One mourner, Kenny John, shared a deeply emotional message:
The accident that occurred on Saturday, April 5, along the Shagamu–Ibadan Expressway claimed 22 lives. Among them were four people dear to me: Prophet Ayodeji, also known as Kekere Jesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Prophet Ayodeji’s fiancée, and the wife of Prophet Ayodeji’s elder brother.
It still feels unreal. May their souls rest in perfect peace. Lord, we bring before You the souls of these beloved ones who departed so suddenly. Grant them eternal rest, and comfort the brokenhearted. May their memories bring light and hope, even in this time of deep sorrow.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”* — Psalm 34:18
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” — Revelation 21:4
> “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4”
As investigations into the cause of the crash continue, friends and family hold on to the faith and legacy these ministers left behind. They are remembered not just for their ministry, but for the lives they touched with their message of hope.
