Chaos in Christendom is fast becoming the order of the day as clergies have been seen repeatedly cryptically castigating the acts of other clergies.
This time around, chaos surfaced in the form of a Catholic priest calling out believers of the Catholic faith who don’t attend Mass but whose attendance ranks foremost in the NSPPD online prayers led by Pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze.
The Reverend Father identified as Joshua Mary has utilized his X page as a correctional tool to reprimand Catholics who are after the miraculous deeds of men of God as opposed to their desire to know God better.
Father Joshua Mary claimed that these folks do not attend Mass, nor do they pray the rosary or receive the sacrament, but they are swift in sharing the WhatsApp links of NSPPD prayers because of miracles.
The post reads:
“You call yourself Catholic, yet you join NSPPD and share the link on WhatsApp daily. But you donโt go for Mass daily, you donโt pray the Rosary, you donโt receive the sacraments, you donโt read the Bibleโฆ You are a miracle seeker not a God seeker.”
The post has sparked a chain of reactions from netizens, further fueling online debate. While some have criticized the priest’s comments, arguing that it’s ministerially unethical to publicly criticize those who prioritize Jerry Eze’s online prayers, others have lashed out at Jerry Eze, accusing him of profiteering from his incredulous followers.
In the middle of the sour controversy, we believe there should be peace in the house of God.
