One might have thought that the Ju’mat Prayer would be perceived as sacred by a group of unknown criminals who stormed the Abuja mosque for the Ju’mat prayers. While others bowed to pray, they bowed out of the mosque premises with a black Toyota Hilux vehicle belonging to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
The heist was expertly executed moments after the Toyota Hilux was parked opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10, at about 1:05 PM.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has, however, launched a search party for the stolen vehicle, further disclosing to the members of the public that it had been whisked out of the mosque without anyone’s notice.
A security source identified as Zagazola Makama said that upon noticing the vehicle’s disappearance, the theft was reported to the Garki Police Division at around 2:00 PM.
As the FCT Police Division intensifies efforts to track down the vehicle, stop-and-search operations at various checkpoints and across all entry and exit points in the capital city have been reported.
The police authorities have admonished that all available efforts will be utilized to clamp down on the criminals who absconded with the said vehicle.
