NBC has got nothing on the duo of Eedris Abdulkareem and VeryDarkMan, as in fulfillment of the promise made earlier, VeryDarkMan has financially committed to sponsoring a remake of the hit “Tell Your Papa.”
The “Tell Your Papa” track, released by Eedris Abdulkareem, takes a satirical approach to the hardships faced by the common man in the Nigerian society.
Th
e song, which gained traction on the day of its release, has been banned across radio and television stations in Nigeria on the grounds that it is inappropriate for broadcast.
Reacting to the ban, activist Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan) has promised Eedris Abdulkareem a remake of the hit song.
“Dear, Eedris Abdulkareem, we are going to shoot another video. This time, we will sponsor it. I will be in the video. We will also look for Tinubuโs lookalike since we canโt get the President to be in the video. We will remake the video, โTell Your Papa 2.โ Then, we will also highlight other problems,” VDM said.
Martins Vincent Otse, however, took to the media on Monday to share the receipt of a transaction he made to a cinematographer who will be working with them on the project. Giving it the caption “Eedris Abdulkareem Tell Your Papa Remake,” VeryDarkMan wrote:
“It is about to go down and the legendary shalomchikifilms is behind the cam and guess the director, Seyi Tell your papa.”
