The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has intensified efforts to uphold integrity and technical excellence in the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), delisting five Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for falling short of required standards.
The delisted centres include Adventure Associate in Kano, Saadatu Rimi College of Education, and Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd in Tambuwal, among others. According to the Board, the affected centres failed to meet the technical and ethical benchmarks necessary for smooth and credible examination conduct.
Meanwhile, JAMB praised 883 other CBT centres across the country for their outstanding performance, reiterating that any centre—regardless of ownership—that violates ethical or technical guidelines will face immediate sanctions.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but we will not entertain excuses from candidates who fail to reprint their examination slips to get their updated schedules,” JAMB emphasized.
In a major anti-malpractice operation, the Board also confirmed the arrest of 27 individuals caught impersonating registered candidates. The suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for swift prosecution.
So far, over 900,000 of the 2,083,600 registered candidates have successfully completed their UTME without major hitches.
Additionally, JAMB responded to reports of unauthorized restrictions placed on candidates wearing hijabs at one of the centres. The Board condemned the act, stating that prompt intervention by the centre’s and university’s leadership ensured that no candidate was unfairly treated.
“We extend our sincere apologies to the affected candidates and appreciate the swift actions taken to resolve the matter,” the statement concluded.
