Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have uncovered and dismantled a notorious cybercrime hub in Benin City, Edo State, known locally as “Hustle Kingdom” or HK.
The operation, carried out in collaboration with the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, led to the arrest of 30 suspects on Monday, April 28, 2025. The crackdown followed intelligence reports linking the location to organized internet fraud activities.
In a statement confirming the arrests, the EFCC described the facility as a full-fledged ‘Yahoo School’—a term used to describe training centers for cyber fraud.
The premises reportedly had the appearance of a conventional computer training institute, complete with desktop computers, workstations, and other digital accessories. However, a hidden compartment was also discovered, allegedly containing various fetish items believed to be used for ritualistic practices linked to cybercrime.
Recovered items included a Toyota Corolla, several smartphones, laptops, and MP3 devices.
The EFCC reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating cybercrime and warned that similar operations would continue across the country to dismantle criminal networks and bring perpetrators to justice.
