The Natasha-Akpabio kerfuffle might take another turn as a group under the auspices of the AT Ahmed Consultative Forum in Kogi Central Senatorial District has beckoned on the Nigerian Senate to reconsider Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension.
The People’s Insight recalls that the senator was suspended for six months without pay from the Senate, with her security and official convoy withheld.
The forum has, however, pleaded for leniency regarding the ongoing suspension so that the representative of Kogi Central Senatorial District can resume the duties for which she was democratically elected by her constituents.
Hon. Idris Anako, the coordinator of the forum, was said to have initiated the call in a statement issued to journalists in the state’s capital, Lokoja, on Wednesday.
Hon. Anako expressed concerns over the ongoing debacle between Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and the president of the 10th Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
According to him, the issue has garnered significant concerns and interest both nationally and internationally and should be prioritized.
โIt is disheartening to see leaders of such stature embroiled in controversy, leading to a suspension that many feel does not reflect a fair and just process, especially considering its implications for the Egbira geopolitical community.
โSenator Natasha Akpoti embodies the aspirations of our nation and the Egbira people. Her commendable contributions to both physical and human development serve as a testament to her leadership and dedication.
โHer accomplishments distinguish her from her peers and enhance the representation of the Egbira community on a larger scaleโ
โWe must prioritize constructive dialogue over political intrigue, ensuring progress for all for the overall interest of the Nation,โ he concluded.
