The former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has made it clear that although he respects President Bola Tinubu, his loyalty should not be mistaken for weakness.
Nyesom Wike noted in an interview that it would be hard for him to go against the President, but however, he must understand that he is not made of water as he has blood running through his veins.
“It will be difficult for me to disobey Mr. President, but he should also know that itโs not water flowing in my body, itโs blood.”
Wike during the interview had expressed deep feelings of betrayal by Governor Sim Fubara, comparing the situation to a son turning against the father who raised and supported him.
He accused Fubara of aligning with his adversaries and cast doubt on the authenticity of recent peace efforts.
In a video released by ESET TV, Wike stressed that any resolution must be sincere and involve lawmakers and party stakeholders, not just media-friendly declarations.
The FCT Minister reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP, denied rumours of an impending defection, and signaled his preparedness for the political battles leading up to 2027.
