The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, visited President Bola Tinubu at his residence in Lagos on Tuesday.
Tinubu, who has been in Lagos since last week for the commissioning of various projects, is expected to remain there through the Sallah celebrations.
Fubaraโs visit is believed to be linked to the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, a saga which prompted President Tinubu to recently declare a six-month state of emergency in the state, suspending Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State Assembly.
The presidency equally appointed a sole administrator to oversee the state’s affairs.
In a related development, reports emerged that Fubara recently met with his estranged political mentor, Nyesom Wike, in an effort to mend their strained relationship.
Fubara has been mouthed by the media to be at the verge of mending the broken ties between him and his godfather Wike since the latter played a key role in his rise to the governorship, despite facing resistance from other political stakeholders in the state.
