Lawyers representing Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor have challenged individuals making allegations against him to present credible evidence to the Nigeria Police Force or risk legal action.
Counsel to the cleric, Ife Ajayi, dismissed the allegations circulating on social media as unfounded and misleading, describing them as part of a sustained campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail, and public incitement against his client.
Ajayi said the claims, which resurfaced in December 2025, were initially made by actress Doris Ogala and later amplified by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, alongside bloggers and online platforms. He noted that the allegations were widely shared without verification or any attempt to seek Pastor Okafor’s response.
“Our client is a law-abiding citizen and a private individual,” Ajayi said. “What is being presented to the public is neither responsible journalism nor advocacy, but a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation through falsehoods and sensational narratives.”
The lawyer stressed that Pastor Okafor is open to lawful investigation and urged anyone with genuine complaints to report them through the appropriate legal channels rather than social media.
Ajayi added that the legal team is closely monitoring developments and will take all necessary steps to protect their client’s reputation if the allegations persist without substantiated evidence.
