There is a wrong narrative that people are spreading on Social Media saying Delta State People have a Raping Culture and Festival due to the incident that happened in Ozoro, Delta State.
That is a very wrong narrative, there is nothing like rape festival or culture in Delta State.
That Ozoro Festival was a Fertility Festival celebrated by only barren women who are looking for children in one of the communities in Ozoro.
Most Festivals across Nigeria don’t allow women to come out at a certain time during the festival and the Ozoro festival wasn’t an exception.
But due to lack of proper security and orientation, Hoodlums hijacked it to carry out their barbaric acts by harassing and M0lesting women and even went to the extent of harassing people in their hostel which is a human rights violation and those involved have been arrested and investigated is going on.
We all know how Hoodlums hijacked festivals, protests carry out barbaric things. The Endsars protest was hijacked by Hoodlums who turned to our carry out stealing and harassing people, should we now call the Endsars Protest ” Stealing Protest” or “Shooting Protest” because people shot in Lekki Toll Gate?
That wrong Narrative should end because people are calling Delta people rapists, even telling Deltans you are a product of Rapist and the funny thing is Delta people are supporting the narrative and Laughing, Same people you are cheering for tagging you with wrong narrative will not accept it if you say anything bad about their States or tribes.
Stop spreading a wrong narrative about Delta State and it’s people.
