
Three individuals have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command following the death of a commercial sex worker during a violent confrontation at a brothel in Akure, the state capital.
The tragic incident unfolded over the weekend at a popular brothel located in the Cathedral area of the city. According to reports, the altercation began after a male customer became enraged when the sex worker allegedly expressed fatigue and was unable to continue their encounter. He demanded a refund of the N15,000 he had paid for her services.
Tensions escalated when the dissatisfied client reportedly returned with two of his friends to demand a refund, leading to a heated confrontation involving the brothel manager. The situation quickly turned violent.

Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, stating:
“At approximately 10:00 a.m. on June 29, the manager of the brothel reported a violent altercation between a sex worker and a male customer. The disagreement began when the sex worker reportedly complained of sudden weakness and could no longer continue with the services initially agreed upon.”
The customer, angered by the situation, called in his associates to help recover the money, and a scuffle ensued. During the fracas, the sex worker sustained serious injuries.
“The police responded swiftly and professionally. While the victim was being rushed to a hospital in the Lafe area, officers at the scene apprehended three suspects connected to the incident,” Ayanlade said.
Despite efforts to save her, the woman was declared dead on arrival at the Police Hospital in Akure. Her body has been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital morgue for autopsy, as investigations continue to determine the exact cause of death and those responsible.
Police authorities have assured the public that a full investigation is underway and that justice will be served.
