Mass Wedding: Ganduje, Bagudu presents N54m dowries to 300 Couples in Kebbi
The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, alongside the minister for budget and economic planning,Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, on Thursday, presented the sum of fifty four million to three hundred couples drawn from the 21 local governments in Kebbi state as dowries to the beneficiaries of the second mass wedding in Kebbi state.
The solemnization of the couples, which was performed by the Walin Gwandu malam Muktar, assisted by other notable clerics, admonished them to stick to the rules of marriage by taking care of their wives as enshrined in the holy Quran.
A notable cleric from Kano State, Malam Aminu Daurawa, in his sermon, confirmed the eligibility of the grooms who were certified healthy by medical personnel and were economically viable to feed and take good care of the wives.
The mass wedding was held under the supervision of NANAS, the foundation owned by the wife of Kebbi governor, Hajia Nafisa Nasir Idris prov, provided beds, duvets, and future food and means of livelihood to the grooms to enable their foot to the bills of their wives.
Earlier, in his speech, the governor of Kebbi state, D.r Nasir Idris, admonished the couples to justify the confidence reposed in them by being good husbands to their wives. You should know from today her entire life depends on you as husbands you must therefore exhibit the best of conduct as a husband.”.
National Chairman of APC, Umar Ganduje, Senator Bagudu, organizing secretary of APC, and other top dignitaries graced the mass wedding.
