With an influx of political gladiators and celebrities like Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Toyin Abraham, Mavin boss Don Jazzy, TikTok stars Peller and Jarvis, amongst others, the Eko Hotels destination annual Silverbird Man of the Year Awards event was hosted on Sunday, the 16th of March 2025, with dignitaries smiling home over the recognition of their contributions to diverse sectors.
Several award categories were called out, amongst whom Peller, the TikTok sensation, won the Influencer of the Year Award.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Peller, in his usual linguistically influenced tone and comic mannerism, saturated the atmosphere with laughter while simultaneously acknowledging his fans and the Silverbird group for their massive support and worthiness.
“I am speechless. Thank you all for making me win this award @silverbirdmoty Influencer of the Year. You all made it happen. I am so grateful. God bless you all. I love you guys! Even though I don’t have content, you still made me win this award. Thanks to my wife for always supporting me. I love her. My management, thanks for always standing behind me. Thanks to everyone; Iโm so happy.”
Joining Peller on stage to co-deliver the acceptance speech was Jarvis, Peller’s rumoured sweetheart, seconds after Peller beckoned to her and handed her the microphone.
As part of the celebrated awards, Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji won the prestigious Silverbird Man of the Year award, while the Governors of the Year Awards went to Sanwo-Olu and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah.
For his indelible contribution to Nollywood, legendary actor Richard Mofe-Damijo bagged a lifetime achievement award, while Toyin Abraham and Chidi Mokeme won the Trailblazer Awards.
Not left out was the indefatigable Mavin boss Don Jazzy, who received the Extraordinary Achievement Award for his influence in the entertainment industry.
