President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a request to the Senate for the confirmation of five nominees as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, read the president’s letter during plenary on Wednesday, listing the nominees as follows: Umar Yusuf Garba (Kano State), Saad Umar (Bauchi), Chukwuemeka Ukomba (Anambra), Umar Mukhtar (Borno), and Johnson Alalibo Siniken (Bayelsa).
