The Supreme Court has, in a final judgment, ruled against the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal in Enugu, which had declared Sunday Udey-Okoye as the PDP’s national secretary.
As the zenith court, the Supreme Court has given a final verdict declaring Samuel Anyanwu the national secretary of the People’s Democratic Party.
One of the criteria for the Supreme Court’s ruling was that the Court of Appeal and the trial court in Enugu lacked the legal authority to hear the case since it was an internal party affair.
Samuel Anyanwu, who was reported by members of the press to be a close ally of the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, was said to have left the secretary position to contest for the gubernatorial seat of Imo State and has now returned after suffering defeat.
