The apprehended socialite and businessman, Emeka Okonkwo, known to all as E-Money, has been released on bail a day after he was whisked to Abuja for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A reliable source, who preferred to remain anonymous, noted that E-Money, who was arrested on Monday night at his residence in the Omole area of the state for allegedly abusing Naira notes, was released on Tuesday upon fulfillment of his bail requirements. However, the court will sit on a further date to commence hearing of the matter.
E-Money was apprehended for the offense of spraying United States dollars, an act said to violate the Foreign Exchange Act, four days after the body nabbed popular hip-hop sensation Terry Alexander Ejeh, more commonly known as “Terry Apala.”
While netizens await an official statement regarding the hearing of the case, colleagues like Cubana Chief Priest have reportedly shown support for him.
