A Lagos resident, Olawale Ogunbadejo, has been remanded in the notorious Kirikiri Correctional Centre after being caught illegally dumping waste on a public bridge.
The People’s Insight reports that Ogunbadejo was apprehended on Wednesday, May 21, while disposing of refuse on the Alapere Link Bridge. His arrest followed a public alert and bounty issued by the Lagos State Government in a bid to identify and apprehend him.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, confirmed the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
> “Mr. Olawale Ogunbadejo, caught disposing of refuse on the road, has just been remanded in Kirikiri Prison by the Magistrate’s Court till June 26.”
The arrest was carried out by operatives of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) in collaboration with the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as KAI.
The court ordered Ogunbadejo’s remand until his next hearing scheduled for June 26, as the state continues to crack down on environmental violations in a bid to maintain cleaner and safer communities.
