Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has been absent from the screen, leaving her fans wondering about her whereabouts. After releasing her autobiography, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson”, which chronicled her life’s journey and challenges, she took a break from acting.
Yvonne Nelson has now revealed that she has been focused on a new venture. She is set to open her own school, Yvonne Nelson International School, which will be launching soon.
โI stopped acting for a while to start my school because i believe so much in education. I had to sell my house and use up all my savings just to ensure the school runs smoothly.โ ~ Yvonne Nelson talks about her new school in interview.
โObviously, weโve just started primary school and this is just phase one. We are going to continue and progress further. It is really crazy because, at a point, I am getting personal now. When we started the project, I had to sell my house because I went to the banks for a loan and the percentages were, look, it did not make sense.
โSo, I had to fall back on a house and sold it. I had so many memories there, but I said to myself, Yvonne, this is the only way, so I sold the house, started the building, the money finished and I had to dip into my savings.
I pretty much emptied my entire savings for this school project so my heart is in it and i know we are going to go to lengths that will surprise us.
I know that alot of future leaders are going to come out of the school. Anytime you meet a kid and youโre so impressed by them, just ask them what school they are in and they are going to say Yvonne Nelson International school. Thank you.โ
Now you know why you have not been seeing the actress in movies recently. She has been busy with building her school and ensuring everything goes on well for both teachers and pupils.”
We send a big congratulation to the indefatigable actress. More wins.
