Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi was reportedly said to have surrendered himself at the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID).
Recall that the Ogun State government had declared the singer wanted for his involvement in a violent attack on government officials carrying out their lawful duties.
The singer was later handed over to the Ogun State Command, where he will be prosecuted for his offense of violently attacking government officials while on duty.
CSP Omotola Odutola, the spokesperson of the police command, said upon the controversial singer’s arrival that his prosecution for the alleged violent attack on government officials will commence with immediate effect.
CSP Odutola admonished that due process will be followed in the singer’s case and that updates will be provided to members of the public as events unfold.
She said, โWe urge members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.โ
Prior to his eventful arrest, the singer had pleaded passionately, calling on President Tinubu to appeal on his behalf to the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, citing that he is a citizen of Ogun State and he wouldn’t know the rationale behind the war his people have staged against him.
