The fame of UNIZIK’s assaulted lecturer, due to his composure and demureness during the assault perpetrated by the expelled UNIZIK student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chiamaka Precious, has sporadically grown. To say the least, netizens are greatly impressed.
After the first-ever interview he granted with Yanbaba, the host of the GBAM show shortly after the assault, Dr. Okoye dropped a post commending the determination and tenacity of Yanbaba, an alumnus of the UNIZIK institution and his former supervisee.
His Facebook post reads as follows:
“I want to thank Yan Baba for having a chat with me on the English edition of Gbam. As many know, Yan was my student and project supervisee during his undergraduate years at UNIZIK. Over the years, I’ve seen him build an admirable brand and even worked with him on a couple of projects. I was happy to have a chat on his program on a range of issues from the theatre discipline, the role of the church, fatherhood, and the elephant in the room, it was therapeutic and flavored with the true theatre spirit. I wish him and his crew the very best.
Simultaneously, some members of the public are of the opinion that the lecturer’s doom might be nigh if he continues to jettison the quiet demeanor that brought him to the limelight for the unnecessary granting of interviews to gain traction.
While many have condemned his interview with Yanbaba, citing that it was needless at the moment, others have clapped and thrown their weight behind the lecturer to grant as many interviews as he wants, especially with the alleged news that the instigator of the assault, Goddy-Mbakwe Chiamaka Precious, is back on TikTok showing video evidence.
