The civil liberties organization condemns in strong the declaration of a state of emergency in the River State because it was an avoidable contraption if all the parties had acted correctly and, and promptly.
Director Civil Liberty Organisation Daniel Steve Aluko in a press statement made available to Daily Independent in Jos on Tuesday said It is on record that like the declaration of state emergency in
Plateau under Governor Dariye and Obasanjo’s Presidency is not the same as the one under Tinubu’s Presidency, saying what has happened is inconsistent with the letter, intents, and spirit of the Nigerian constitution.

It also offend all indices of democratic governance as celebrated in the recent local government autonomy judgement made by the supreme court to the effect that undemocratic practice is illogical, illegitimate and autocratic under a dispensation civil democracy”
