
Police operatives in Rivers State have arrested four individuals, including a native doctor, for their alleged involvement in the gruesome murder of two children for ritual purposes.
The horrifying incident took place on March 24 in the Rukpokwu community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. According to reports, one of the suspects lured the children by sending them on an errand. Upon their return, he took them to an uncompleted building, where he allegedly drugged and killed them.
The suspect then proceeded to mutilate their bodies, harvesting certain body parts and collecting their blood in a bottle—an act believed to be for ritual purposes.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that all four suspects have been apprehended and are currently in custody. She assured the public that justice will be served.
The gruesome nature of the crime has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents calling for swift and decisive legal action against the perpetrators.
