The Alema of Warri High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, has instituted a lawsuit against the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, over derogatory statements directed at him and his wife, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Apparently, Nwaebonyi granted an interview in which he used unprintable names for Senator Natasha, including disparaging statements about her previous marriages.
The counsel for the duo of Natasha and Chief Emmanuel has issued a formal demand for a public apology, adding that failure to comply will result in a lawsuit being instituted against the Ebonyi Senator.
In the interview, Nwaebonyi also alleged that Natasha is involved in the practice of false accusations and blackmail, as she did with Reno Omokri.
He further alleged that Natasha had arm-twisted her husband into marriage, following a blackmail demand for a large sum of money to be paid if he wanted out of the marriage.
Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan has mentioned that the allegation is a dent on the persona of his wife as the interview was widely watched by different categories of people within and without the country. He stressed in the vitality of the video which was aired on News Central TV and its affiliate platforms, including DSTV, GOTV, Startimes, and AVO.
The demand notice dated March 27 2025 which was served to Nwaebonyi called for a 14-days interval written public apology from to be aired on News Central TV and widely disseminated across social media platforms, adding that failure to comply, the letter warned, would result in legal proceedings against the senator to seek redress in the court.
