The government of Kano State has, in line with the ongoing investigation of the lynching of 16 northern travelers, deployed some emissaries to Edo State to enable the federal government conduct a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
The government vehemently condemned the extrajudicial killing of 16 of its citizens who were reportedly traveling from Port Harcourt to Kano State for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The lynching, which took place in Uromi, Edo State, has allegedly gained traction, with the president weighing in and directing that the perpetrators be apprehended and made to face the wrath of the law.
The foundational objective of the emissaries is to work collaboratively with the Edo State Government in smoking out those involved in the extrajudicial killing and bringing them to justice.
The issues and further discussions on how to bring the culprits to book will be tabled during an official rendezvous with the Hausa community leaders in the State.
The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya in a report said he is aggrieved by the incident and is committed to protecting the rights of the citizens of the state.
The Kano State government has however admonished the citizens to bury the hatchet and not instigate any form of rancour as measures are being taken to ensure that justice is served to the victims of the ill luck.
