Yobe State Civil Servants Urged to Complete Physical Verification to Fish Out Ghost Workers
The Yobe State Committee on Physical Verification of Civil Servants has called on all civil servants to complete their physical verification to ascertain the number of legal workers on the government payroll.
According to the committee, despite prior notices and a detailed timetable, the turnout for the verification exercise has been low, with only 40 to 60 percent of scheduled civil servants attending.
The Head of Service, Tonga Betara Bularafa, has assured that the list of cleared civil servants will be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance daily to ensure prompt salary payment.
He urged all outstanding personnel to comply with the schedule to ensure a smooth and timely conclusion of the exercise.
In his Sallah message, Betara congratulated all civil servants on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, encouraging them to carry forward the lessons of compassion, sacrifice, and unity imbibed during the holy month of Ramadan.
Affected personnel are advised to liaise with their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to confirm their scheduled appearance dates and the necessary documents required for timely clearance.
