Police Teargas End Bad Governance Protesters as Journalists Arrested, Injured in Rivers
Operatives of the Nigerian Police Command in Rivers State have on Monday morning tear gassed scores of Rivers youths protesting against bad governance in the country, arresting some journalists covering the protest.
The protest, organized by the Take It Back Movement, Niger Delta Congress, and the Rivers Civil Society Organisation, was, however, disrupted by the police with several teargas canisters fired at the crowd near Isaac Boro Park around 7.30 am, shortly after the protest began.
Some journalists covering the protest were arrested, while others in a bid to escape the painful teargas, sustained various degrees of injuries.
