Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru has been removed from the position she initially occupied as the leader of the minority group.
Her removal happened simultaneously with the removal of Charity Aiguobarueghian, the Majority Leader.
Emerging reports indicate that Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko, who are both members of the People’s Democratic Party, still retained their positions as the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.
The shake-up is a result of the massive defection from the PDP to the APC recorded recently. The People’s Democratic Party has lost four of its members to the ruling opposition party, according to the party’s chairman, Jarret Tenebe.
The Speaker of the House said the removed members were replaced with the following personnel: Hon. Ibhamawu Jonathan Aigbokhan, APC, Esan West as Majority Leader; Hon. Addeh Emakhu Isibor, APC, Esan North-East I; and Hon. Lecky Hussein Mustapha, APC, Etsako West I as MMajority Leader, Deputy Leader and Chief Whip respectively.
Despite the shake-up, the speaker also mentioned that the People’s Democratic Party will be allowed to bring a list of nominees of principal officers to the state House of Assembly
