Some unidentified gunmen were sent to attack the family house of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on Tuesday, April 15th, in Okehi Local Government, Kogi State.
Natasha made this known during a press statement issued on Thursday, April 17th, 2025. She disclosed that the gunmen had stormed her father’s residence in Okehi on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, with hopes of seeing her to execute their plans.
The senator, currently serving a six-month suspension, expressed that she was the main target of the attackers, who had thought she would be within reach at the family house.
She stated that her unavailability at the venue and time of the attack had thwarted their plans, while simultaneously commending the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the local residents for their swiftness in repelling the hoodlums.
Following this development, Senator Natasha pleaded with the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbotekun over a reinstatement of her security.
Reports gathered equally expressed that the gunmen had vandalized the windows in the Senator’s grandfather’s house, with the hopes of attacking the Kogi lawmaker.
