Gov. Oborevwori Defection: We are Pained But Our Structures Cannot Go To APC- PDP National Chairman
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday formally reacted to the defection of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reacting after presenting a certificate of return to Chief Ezenwafor Jude, the PDP candidate for the Anambra state governorship election scheduled for November 8, the Acting National Chairman of PDP, Amb. Umar Damagum said that although the defection of Governor Oborevwori is painful, the party will take over the Delta structure immediately.
He declared that despite the unexpected news, the party is undeterred from its goals.
Damagum warned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have tactics, but he cannot play god, adding that the 2027 election is about APC and Nigerians.
He said that President Tinubu is arm-twisting Governors from the Southern part of the country in his bid to win the 2027 elections.
