The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disowned a fraudulent website soliciting payments from candidates who missed the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), warning the public against falling victim to the scam.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB revealed that a site identified as **”Copyrightwriter Personal J Rescheduling Flw”** and an associated **Sterling Bank account (Account No. 8520641017)** are being used to deceive unsuspecting candidates with false promises of exam rescheduling.
Dr. Benjamin emphasized that the perpetrators behind this scheme are demanding a fee of **N15,700** under the guise of rescheduling missed exams—an offer he described as “a blatant scam.”
“We issue this urgent notice to inform the public about this nefarious scheme targeting candidates who were unable to participate in the UTME,” Benjamin said.
“These individuals have no connection to JAMB or any legitimate government body. The account details being circulated are fictitious and are designed solely to defraud.”
JAMB has reported the matter to security agencies and urged **Sterling Bank** to take swift action against the fraudulent account. The Board reaffirmed its policy that **it does not reschedule UTME exams for candidates who miss them for reasons not caused by the Board.**
However, Dr. Benjamin clarified that candidates who experienced **biometric verification failures** are currently under review. Those found to have no discrepancies will be given the opportunity to retake the exam **free of charge**.
“It is important to note that JAMB does not request any additional fees from candidates once registration is complete. We strongly advise candidates to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity,” he added.
JAMB concluded by urging the public to disregard any messages or platforms requesting payments on its behalf, stressing that official communications will always be made through verified JAMB channels.
