
The Nigerian Army has dismissed a Lance Corporal, Samuel Emmanuel, over his alleged involvement in an armed robbery incident.
Emmanuel, who served under the 16 Brigade Garrison, was arrested and subsequently court-martialed during the week. Following a thorough investigation and military judicial proceedings, he was found guilty of the offense and officially discharged from service.

After his dismissal, he was handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law.
A military memo issued on the matter stated:
“Lance Corporal Samuel Emmanuel, serving under the 16 Brigade Garrison, has been officially dismissed from the Nigerian Army following his involvement in a case of armed robbery. After a thorough investigation and military proceedings, he was found guilty and consequently discharged from the Regiment.”
The statement emphasized the Army’s firm stance on discipline:
“The Nigerian Army maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and criminal behavior. All personnel are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct, professionalism, and integrity—without exception.”
The Army reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline within its ranks and pledged continued cooperation with civil authorities to ensure that justice is served.
