The 13 remaining passengers, including the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination candidates kidnapped from an 18-seater Benue Links bus, have regained their freedom.
According to reports, eight of those abducted, who were JAMB candidates, were heading to Otukpo for their exam when they were taken.
As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding their freedom are yet to be made public, but sources indicate that they were released early on Sunday.
It was gathered that security operatives intensified rescue efforts in the area, culminating in the abductees regaining their freedom on Sunday.
The victims are reportedly receiving treatment at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo.
The rescue was confirmed by Benue State Police Commissioner, Ifeanyi Emenari, who assured that the media would be briefed on the development.
