A tragic incident occurred on the 4th of March, 2025, when the retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was found dead, seated on a chair in a hotel room he had reportedly checked into.
However, brewing speculations from members of the public alleged that Mr. Parradang had been abducted and subsequently killed by unknown kidnappers.
The FCT Police Command, which had since begun an investigation into the matter, recently discovered that Mr. Parradang was neither abducted nor killed; rather, he had died in a hotel room where he was set to have hosted a female guest hours after the said guest checked out.
Findings revealed that Mr. Parradang, on March 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM, arrived at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, in his black Mercedes Benz. He paid a sum of twenty-two thousand naira (N22,000) to check in for a night. Reports gathered that no sooner after he checked in than a lady was escorted to the hotel room by an attendant under the instruction of Mr. Parradang. At exactly 4:00 PM on the same day, the lady was said to have checked out of the hotel premises.
It was also gathered that Mr. Parradang did not exit his room after the lady left, and nothing was heard from him until about 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, when a friend, who is a military officer and concerned for his well-being, traced him to the hotel. The friend found Mr. Parradang seated on a sofa in his room, already deceased. The friend raised an alarm that attracted the hotel receptionist and an officer who proceeded to his room to behold the same scenario.
Notifications were sent to the police, and officers promptly arrived at the scene, secured the area, took photographs, and collected all relevant evidence to preserve the integrity of the crime scene.
The body of Mr. Parradang has been transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures, and hotel staff are currently cooperating with police investigations to bring those involved in the murder to justice.
“We urge the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information, including claims of kidnapping, that may incite fear or panic. The FCT Police Command is committed to conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mr. Parradangโs death. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to ensure justice is served.”
