
The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended three individuals in connection with alleged organ trafficking and ritualistic activities.
The suspects, identified as Oladimeji Olaniran (40), Isaiah Tijani (38), and the prime suspect, Sunday Akintobi (36), were arrested by operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit on April 22 in the Itoku area of Abeokuta.
Following their arrest, a search was conducted at their residences, where human body parts were discovered. Further investigations led officers to a building disguised as a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kobape Town, as well as another location along Abiola Way, Abeokuta, where additional human remains, including cerebral bones, were recovered.
Confirming the arrests, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, CSP Omolola Odutola, stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for comprehensive investigation.
Authorities have promised that justice will be served, as investigations into the gruesome activities continue.
